Katerina Kovalshyn is a practical psychologist in the field of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy with 6 years of experience.

Education:
In 2005 she graduated from the Ukrainian Catholic University (Faculty of Philosophy and Theology).
2010-2012 UCU School of Psychological Counseling (US-Ukraine project).
2012-2014 Ukrainian Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
In 2015 she graduated from Lviv National University (psychology).

WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL ADVICE?
Individual counseling, as defined by the British Association of Counseling Psychologists, is: ”A specific relationship between two people in which one person (counselor) helps another person to help himself.”

In psychological counseling, relationships are built on the basis of respect for human dignity, cooperation, mutual openness, honesty and equality.

A psychologist is not a guru who knows the right answers to all the questions asked, not a teaching teacher, not a girlfriend or friend who gives advice on a cup of coffee. It is not the doctor who makes the unilateral decision, but the patient only has to follow the scheme suggested by the doctor.

A psychologist is a specialist who does not intend to condemn or criticize a person for his or her thoughts or actions, does not know ”how best”. Instead, it allows one to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors for a greater and deeper understanding of oneself, as well as the motives for one’s behavior or causes of ill health. Such research helps unlock their strengths and resources so that they can live a more conscious and full life by building on them.
