In 1992, the department of cardiac surgery and resuscitation of newborns was opened at the Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery (ISSH) of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In the same year, the first successful surgical correction of a congenital defect in a newborn was performed.
The clinic employs some of the best specialists in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery with up to 20 years of experience. Sufficient time is allocated for each patient for a full examination, anamnesis, prescription of a treatment regimen and necessary manipulations. For each patient, a good treatment regimen is selected, taking into account indications and comorbidities. In our work, we are guided by evidence-based clinical practice, the principles of evidence-based medicine, the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and our own clinical protocols based on the recommendations of the European and American Associations of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. In the course of the treatment and diagnostic process, there is the possibility of telemedicine and the use of specialized Internet resources in complex cases for consultation with doctors from leading medical institutions around the world, in particular Switzerland, Germany, the USA, and Australia.
