The Lviv Resurrection Theater was founded in Lviv in 1990 on a wave of social transformation after Ukraine became independent. Young actors from different cities of Ukraine, dissatisfied with the then existing state, slightly academic theater in Ukraine, under the direction of experienced artistic director Yaroslav Fedoryshyn, a graduate of the directing faculty of the Theater Institute in Kharkov and Moscow GITIS, decided to create a new stage - Vosren Theater.
The theater soon won the hearts of the Lviv audience, offering them world drama, which had not previously been performed on the dramatic stages of Ukraine. Step by step, they formed their own stage formula, which combined traditional psychological acting with an innovative art form. Each premiere of Yaroslav Fedoryshyn is a search for the most adequate techniques and the formation of a close-to-heart formula of the theater to express the disturbing time in which he had to live and create. Actors of the Voskresinnia Theater have shown their performances in Ukraine during the twenty years of the theater’s existence, they have been willingly invited to Poland, in particular to international theater festivals in Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Szczecin, Kalisz and Warsaw.
