Company information
Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is located on the shores of the Kakhovka Reservoir. This station is a division of Energoatom.
All power units are equipped with WWER-1000/320 reactors manufactured by Izhorsk plants. The total installed capacity of ZNPP is 6000 MW.
The generated electricity is supplied to the power system of Ukraine through three 750 kV transmission lines and one - 330 kV.
Annually, ZNPP produces about 40 billion kWh of electricity, which is half of the electricity of nuclear origin. ZNPP employs more than 11,500 people.
In 2009, the IAEA commission recognized that ZNPP fully complies with the established requirements. To store spent fuel on the territory of ZNPP, the SNFSF was built. Spent nuclear fuel is stored in ventilated concrete containers. 380 of them are enough to store spent fuel assemblies for 50 years.
The station is constantly working to extend the life of power units.
